I have been hearing good things about this site, so thought I would give it a try. Signed up nice and easy, now adding my site, oh I have to add my site 5 times to get the highest amount of traffic... fun! Well now that I have added my site 5 times, lets do some manual surfing the emerald clicks way..

Instantbuzz

What a easy system, just download their program which sits on your internet browsers toolbar. The instantbuzz toolbar just shows you ads while your browsing the internet. Their program is available in 2 flavours, 1 for internet explorer and firefox, both work the same way. When your looking at www.google.com it shows you ads, when your buying things off ebay it shows you ads. All the while you get credits to show your ads with. Simple, no clicking, no nothing, just leave it there running. How effective this will be, will remain to be seem, this is the easiest system of getting traffic I have seen yet.

I already have a account with these guys, so didn't have to go through the signing up process again, from what I remember it was fairly painless.

Once signed up you get to see traffic swarms product of the day, which seems to change each time you log in, must be lots of products of the day ^^ Anyhow after finding the continue to my account button, which is in the bottom right part of the "product of the day" ad, you get to the members area. Here you can start surfing for credits which opens in another window. You will view 8 ads at a time and get 1 credit for just seeing these ads, you get more credits for clicking on a ad and looking at a page for 15 seconds. This is quite a good system, it means you only have to look at the pages you are actually interested in, it also means the traffic you get to your site, will actually be there because they want to be.

You can add a search box tool to your site, a useful tool for your users, but probably better off with the google search box. The link box option, you can add a link box to your site to give it even more coverage and traffic, when you add this box to your site, your ad will be displayed on 1000s of other sites. Will have to check this 1 out.

Referals

Yes, you can refer people to traffic swarm and get some nice bonuses.

Personally I find these banners a little cheezy, tacky, corny, even a little scary the way they stare at you!

I wish they would make some nicer referral banners, at the moment the only 1 I like is this:

Its a bit to small and not great, but the best of a bad bunch.

You can add pop-ups but I'm not even going to go there, it causes al-sorts of problems with affiliate sites.

Yes, after all that scrolling down, you get to the art where you can add your ad to the site. The hardest part for me was finding the part of the site to add my ad, adding your ad is very simple. Man too many ads..

I love this site and have used it before. It is very simple and easy to sign up. Its the usual stuff, enter your name, site address. Whats different: you also enter what category your site falls into, then which sub category, there are many options and even the pickiest will find a suitable category. This helps gain you the targeted traffic you want. You also enter a quick site description, they even give you tips on what to write, great! You can enter some owner information (optional) about deals you have on your site, recommended sections etc. Very easy to sign up to this site. Then You will then be taken to a page about your referral id and banners. 1 small problem it does not tell you about what you gain from referring people. Some looking around the site tells you as a free member you get paid $1 for each direct referral you get, but you get paid more if you upgrade your account for a 1 time cost of $50.

Getting free traffic for my blog

I want some traffic for my blog, but not only that I want it to cost me nothing. Using google add words or other forms of paid per click advertising can get expensive. Spending money on advertising is something I want to avoid. To begin with I will be looking at free traffic exchange sites.

Auto or Manual?

I will be focusing on Manual traffic exchanges. Why not auto? Well I find the traffic gained from them not to be quality traffic. People just open their browser and can minimise it and leave it to run along auto surfing, you get the same kind of traffic in return. If you just want free targeted traffic, manual is the better way to go. Where people have to look at your page to gain their credits.

How will I rate each program?

I will rate each program in 5 different categories:

1. Volume of traffic: Quite simple, how much traffic do I get from using this program.
2. Quality of traffic: Is it quality traffic, who are interested in my page? Do they click on anything on my page, or just quickly run off to get more credits.
3. Ease of use: Was it easy to sign up, use the site, get your credits and assign them to your site.
4. Features of site: Many of these sites have forums, special offers for users, tools for your web site/blog, like stat counters, widgets etc..
5. Referral program: Does it have one? What do you get for getting referrals?

I will write my reviews as I sign up and use each program, so I guess it will take a couple of weeks to give a full review, especially on the volume and quality of traffic gained.
